50 units of IFFNGS were distributed to the fishermen selected by the States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Goa for demonstrating the usefulness of these systems for locating fishing shoals and the position of fishing vessels in the sea. 50 more units will be proposed to be distributed to the selected fishermen in the States of West Bengal , Orissa , Gujarat , Maharashtra and the Union Territories of Pondicherry and A&N Islands, during 1998-99.
