The Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment & Forests held two meetings during the year 1997-98. The first meeting on 7th April, 97 considered the detailed demands for for Grants and Performance Budget of the Department and the second meeting on 4th August,97 was held to review the Polymetallic Nodules programme.
