The wintering team of the seventeenth expedition under the leadership of Mr. K.R. Sivan an engineer from Research & Development Engineers Pune, which returned on 30 March, 1999, accomplished the assigned scientific tasks in the fields of atmospheric sciences, earth sciences, medical sciences, biological sciences, and engineering and communication.
