Satellite Coastal & Oceanographic Research (SATCORE)

This programme envisages development of algorithms, models and related capability for an operational retrieval of met-ocean parameters from satellite sensors. They will be fine-tuned and converted to user- friendly software packages for operational/semi-operational use under the OIS. Preliminary algorithms/models were developed for retrieval of SST and made available on an operational mode to the end users. Satellite Coastal and Oceanographic Research (SATCORE) programme will be of relevance to the following:
1.Development of oceanic parameter retrieval techniques
2.Study of ocean processes and model forcing functions
3.Studies on bathymetry,marine atmosphere and boundary layer,Antarctic snow/ice sheet
4.Biological oceanography and coastal environment
5.Data assimilation for numerical models and forecasting
